I was asked by my 2 peas Pub forum acquaintance Deborah Lewis to create a challenge on my blog for her blog's scavenger hunt. Thanks for the opportunity Deborah! I'm flattered!
This challenge is a LO based on a sketch and use of the color wheel. If you need a refresher on color wheel principles you can read it here. The sketch I used was a simple 6 x 12 from Pagemaps. Love that site! Here's the sketch Download pagemap_6x12_map_1.doc .
My first LO was created with the use of primary colors. It has hues of red, yellow and blue and actually a hint of green too. I used Bazzil cardstock, Bazzil flowers, some brads, an American Crafts photo corner, chipboard that was in a dish at the check out at my LSS and a 7gypsies journaling stamp.
The second LO was created with hues of color. They look to me to be varying hues of a (tertiary) aqua. I used Bazzil card stock, a Bazzil flower a brad and American Crafts Thickers. I'm not sure of the chipboard . It was in the same bowl as the one in the previous LO. I love the way the title pops on the page and I love the combination of these hues.
I recently came across this picture of my daughter in one of her photo albums.
I love it!
If you want a sure way to have a collection of hues on hand you can purchase Bazzil in packs of 4 called "Bazzil fours". I have found them in several places. The big box stores like AC Moore and Michael's, addicted to scrapbooking and 2peas. If you don't have the big box stores near you then perhaps your LSS can order the Bazzil fours for you.
I hope you have fun with the challenge. I had fun creating it. It's short and sweet so you have no pressure! I'm looking forward to seeing your creations on Deborah's blog!
Thanks for stopping by!
