I was on call today for work so had to stick around the house. I was in the mood to create something but I wasn't really in the mood to do any layouts. Instead, I pulled out some paper and a blank mini album. I am always so easily inspired when it comes to mini albums. I think it is a combination of being able to create it and complete it rather quickly and most often being satisfied with the results.
I decided to do a mini album for my niece CJ about her dog Yale. It is very basic with minimal journaling. My goal was to have CJ be able to show it to people and prompt her to have a conversation with them.
I chose some of Basic Grey's Boxer papers and a Creative Imaginations chipboard book.
I also used some Basic Grey and American Crafts ribbon as well as some American Craft thickers and 2 red 7gypsies binder rings. I liked them better than the silver ones that came with the album. They are also a little larger in diameter.
There is journaling to go with each photo. I asked CJ a few questions before I journaled. The answers written on the pages are from her.
Embellishments were not an option for this book. It is better to keep it simple for my niece rather than have so much distraction and the temptation to remove them.
I am happy with the way it turned out and my niece was happy to receive her little gift. When I left after dinner the album was still intact. I am hoping that is a good sign.
Thanks for stopping by!
