Back From Vacation......

or should I say "Raincation"?? It rained straight from Sunday through Wednesday morning. Not just some summer rain, but a Nor' Easter. Roads were closed due to flooding from the waves. Trees and poles got knocked down. It was the worst way to start off a vacation! By noon on Wednesday it had stopped raining, but it was too late to lift the damper that was on my spirit already.

Thursday evening we went down to Menemsha to meet up with one of the surgeons I work with and his family. They sailed in on Wednesday evening. We were able to enjoy the beauty of the Menemsha sunset from the back of their boat.

I love how the rays are shining out from above the clouds. It is so pretty down there. People come early in the morning and stay all day just for the sunset. It is just beautiful.

Saturday was an A+ day, of course, and the day we had to come home. Thats the way it is sometimes.

 
I hardly took any pictures at all since I did not want to take my camera out in the rain. I usually come home with no less than 300+.

On the plus side, I am gearing up for a class in lighting for photography, which is a full semester class at my local community college. It will concentrate on portraits and still life, both of which are not really my passion, but I need the class. Photography is all about the light and how you use it.

I did a lot of blog surfing during the last week and then again this morning. I came across a talented guy's blog...yes, a guy who is a very talented artist and creator. Stop by the Astoria Crafter's blog when you get a chance.

It is time to recharge, organize and plan for upcoming weekends. But first, I have a ton of unpacking to do.

That picture of the sunset is gorgeous! Can't get much better than that! Sorry to hear your vacation was rained out. But maybe that was a cue to really relax and unwind.
