I create a lot of projects for myself, but I also like to create gifts to give to my friends and family members. I went to my sister-in-law's for a barbque on July 4th and took a lot of pics of my niece. She is a cutie and photographs well.
I made 2 layouts with some of the pictures I took that day, then decided to give them to her mom.
I found these 12"x12" frames at AC Moore. They come in black and white.
They are relatively inexpensive and you can find them on sale quite often.
I'm really pleased with how they turned out. It was a simple and inexpensive project. The only purchase I had to make for this gift was the frames. I had all of the papers, alphas, etc. and printed my own photos.
I surf through Ebay often for neat and eclectic things. Its a lot of fun and you can get lost there for a long time.
I saw a project quite some time ago on Ali Edwards' blog that used an antique printer's drawer. She altered it with photos and some embellishments and it was fabulous.
I was able to find a drawer on Ebay, bid on it and won it with the intention of creating a similar project. I had every intention of choosing the photos, the embellishments, etc....so I put it away when it arrived and quickly forgot all about it.
7gypsies has created their own version of the printer's tray. I do have one, but it is rather small compared to "the real McCoy".
Here's my "Real McCoy"
Isn't it great?
I really love the handle on it. Great detail and in great shape.
I'm really looking forward to working on this project. I already have the wall space picked for where it will hang. I know it will be a long term project too. I can't see myself completing it in 1 weekend, thats for certain.
Thanks for stopping by!
